Welcome

January 2007 was an anniversary for me with Argosy University. Perhaps because it was a new year, perhaps because of the anniversary, I stopped to reflect on this past year with the School of Education and Human Development here on the Phoenix campus.  It was a year of records:

the most graduates from our graduate program,
the most successfully completed comprehensive exams,
the greatest number of doctoral candidates in education,
and a record number of new students this past fall.

This year’s snapshot focused more clearly when I viewed the results of the Noel-Levitz Adult Learner Survey in which our students participated this past fall. I was pleased to note that our students who place high importance on academic advisors also rated academic advising highest.  The students expect academic advisors that

1. are concerned about their success as an individual,
2. apply the academic major to specific career goals,
3. are knowledgeable about requirements in a major,
4. and are accessible by telephone and e-mail.

These strengths, along with students’ high ratings in the quality of instruction and content of the courses, tell me that you are attending an institution that is not only growing but also providing you with quality instruction and faculty that care about your success in your chosen profession.
